Dear parents,
We know how important it is to provide your child with fun and educational experiences that help them learn and grow. That’s why we’re excited to announce that this Easter term, we will be taking our pre-schoolers to a local park to see the animals there. Learning about animals and their natural environment is essential for your child’s growth and development, and we can’t wait to see the joy and excitement on their faces as they explore the outdoors.
But the fun doesn’t have to stop when you leave our nursery. You can create a farm at home using small play resources that you probably already have on hand. Here’s a list of items you’ll need to get started:
- Toy animals: Choose a variety of farm animals such as cows, pigs, horses, and chickens. You can find them at toy stores or online.
- Blocks or cardboard: Use these to create a barn or other structures for your toy animals to live in.
- Grass, rocks, and sticks: Use natural materials to create a farm setting for your toy animals. You can use grass to represent fields, rocks to represent a stream or river, and sticks to represent trees or fences.
- Children’s books about farms: Reading books about farms and animals is a great way to spark your child’s curiosity and teach them more about animals. Check out your local library or bookstore for a variety of options.
Once you have these items, you can start creating your farm with your child. Ask them to identify each animal and talk about what it eats, where it lives, and what sounds it makes. Encourage your child to use their imagination and create stories about their toy animals.
