Botany Bay is a nursery that grows outdoors. Children spend their days among trees, mud kitchens and open fields — building dens, planting, exploring and discovering the world with all their senses.

Our Montessori-inspired approach, led by Montessori-trained practitioners and blended with the Early Years Foundation Stage, gives each child freedom within gentle structure: real choices, unhurried time and beautifully prepared spaces that invite independence.

Forest & outdoor school

Days spent outdoors in all weathers — dens, mud kitchens, planting and mini-beast hunts that build resilience and wonder.

Prepared environments

Calm, ordered spaces with natural materials, arranged so children can choose, concentrate and learn independently.

Freedom within structure

Montessori-inspired independence — real choices and unhurried time — held within warm, predictable routines.

Blended with the EYFS

The best of both worlds: Montessori-inspired principles mapped carefully onto the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Montessori-trained staff

Warm, qualified practitioners with Montessori training who observe closely and follow each child’s lead.
